Sorting Letter Sequences

Develop multi-letter sorting skills

This is a kind of word sorting exercise with training wheels. After students can reliably identify the order of letters, they need to work with multi-letter words. In this case, they are given letter combinations commonly found at the beginning of English words and asked to identify the sort order. By adjusting the number of letters in each sequence and the number of sequences in each sorting problem, you can create sorting problems that are challenging to a wide range of student abilities.
