Develop sight-reading skills with the Dolch list of words
The Dolch High Frequency Word List was originally published by Edward Dolch, Ph.D. in his book, Problems in Reading in 1948. The idea behind the “Dolch 220” is that these words comprise the majority of words encountered in early reading books, and therefore if kids can learn to sight-read all of these words they will be well on their way towards reading without help.
We have categorized the words into five groups that are generally ranked from easiest to hardest so that teachers and homeschoolers can pick a level and work on it until the child is ready for the next level. This particular page creates flashcards of the words, but we will be releasing additional materials based on these words soon.Copyright © 2002-2024 WorksheetWorks.com All Rights Reserved.
