Andrew Jackson was elected the seventh president of the United States in 1828. Someone who knew him well once said, ?If Andrew Jackson could become president, anyone can.? He was not at all like the previous six presidents. He was not a member of the wealthy upper class. People considered him to be a man of the people because he grew up poor.

This is a biography of the first common man to become president of the United States.
